What We Do
IfHI has two basic goals:
1. Foster
research in human nutrigenomics.
The goals of the
research program of the Institute for Human Individuality will be to
accomplish the following:
- To develop and
conduct both evidence based biomedical research and applying the
findings of such biomedical research in clinical settings.
- To develop
strategies and methodologies for data communication and
integration with other and conventional medical and academic
institutions when appropriate.
These include:
Southwest College
of Naturopathic Medicine and Health Sciences
Program in Integrative
Medicine, College of Medicine, University of Arizona
Respiratory Sciences Center, University of Arizona
College of Pharmacy, University of Arizona
Microbiology Department, Molecular Cellular Biology Program,
Plant Biology Department, Arizona State University

2. Educate and
train professional and public members.
Under the auspices of
the Educational and Research Faculty, IfHI coordinates both
professional and public education concerning the effects,
consequences and benefits of nutrigenomics.
Certification
IfHI sponsors
certification of professional members and their election as Fellows
of the Institute. Certification testing is conducted at the biannual
IfHI conferences. Fellows of the Institute provide educational
services to the public-at-large.
Education:
IfHI sponsored
conferences bring together the leading research figures in
nutrigenomics research in concert with the IfHI Educational and
Research Faculty. Attendance at IfHI sponsored continuing education
is open to the general public contingent on available seating.
